PASTA AMATRICIANA
Serving size for 1
Ingredients
200g Of Bacon Or Pancetta
4 Cloves Of Garlic
Handful Of Chopped Fresh Basil
Parmesan Cheese (Optional)
Salt and Pepper
Can Of Tomatoes
200g Of Spaghetti
Cooking Instructions
In a medium sized cold pan, add bacon. Turn your pan to low-medium heat and let your bacon render the fat slowly.
When the bacon is golden brown and crispy, add in the crushed cloves of garlic and your roughly chopped basil and cook for 3-5 mins.
Add in one can of tomatoes into the pan and let it simmer.
In a boiling pot filled with salted water, add in your pasta. To prevent the noodles from sticking to each other, add a tablespoon of neutral oil. Cook your pasta 2 minutes below package instructions as you will finish cooking your noodles in the pan later.
Once the tomato sauce has reduced by half, season with salt and pepper.
Add in strained pasta and finish cooking it in the sauce. This should take another 2 minutes.
Serve with shavings/grated parmesan cheese.
